Phishing is the primary loss path around market links. Clones copy branding and change a few onion characters. Clearnet “mirror lists” get seized or replaced.
Checks that actually work
- Open the market page on this site and compare the full onion string
- Refuse shortened links and QR codes from strangers
- Watch for lookalike brands (extra letters, zero vs O)
- Never enter a wallet seed on a market site
What phishing pages want
Passwords, 2FA seeds, deposit top-ups, and “re-verify wallet” forms. Escrow on a real market does not protect you on a clone.
