PGP Encryption Guide
Generate keys, encrypt messages, verify signatures used around darknet market communication.
PGP/GPG remains the standard for encrypting addresses and verifying signed mirror notices. “Encrypt everything, verify everything” is the short version.
Minimum workflow
- Generate a keypair offline when possible
- Publish only the public key
- Encrypt to the recipient public key — not to yourself alone if the vendor must read it
- Verify signatures on canaries before trusting a new mirror announcement
Common failures
- Paste private keys into chat
- Use a web “PGP tool” that phones home
- Skip fingerprint checks because the UI looks familiar
