VPN and Tor
What VPN plus Tor changes in a threat model — and what it does not fix.
A VPN is not Tor. VPN-before-Tor can hide Tor usage from a local network observer while moving trust to the VPN operator. It does not anonymize you if you log into real-identity services.
Paying a VPN with your real identity and expecting perfect anonymity is inconsistent. Match tools to the adversary you actually have.
